	The installation descriptions above are summaries only and should not be taken as full installation specifications. With all Underfloor Heating Systems, the pipe loops must be filled and under pressure during any floor laying process.

Suspended Floor

This System is used in suspended timber frame construction and often in refurbishment situations. The use of thin, highly conductive aluminium sheets in the system ensures heat is distributed across the floor. The system does not add significantly to the floor loading.

As the System has low thermal mass, it is able to respond fairly quickly to changes at the room thermostats.

Installation

• Glass fibre type insulation is fixed between the joists to top of the void
• Robbens Steel Pipe Channels are nailed to the joists and the pipes are fitted into the channels
• Joists are notched at one end to allow the pipes to return down the other side
• Where engineered joists are being used, the return pipe is taken through the web of the joist.
• Robbens Aluminium Heat Conducting Sheets (0.6mm thick) are laid in rows across the floor, each plate overlapping the other and with a 200mm gap between rows of sheets
• On ground floors, a vapour barrier is placed over the plates
• The flooring is fixed to the joists, through the conducting sheets
• Useful refurbishment system
• Requires a 60°C flow temperature, set by the Robbens System Controller
• Low thermal mass system and therefore responds well to control changes
• 70 watts/sq.m maximum output
